STAUFF Valves

STAUFF offers a wide range of ball valves for use in hydraulic systems - reliable, durable and versatile. Whether shut-off or control valve: The compact components enable the targeted control and diversion of media flows and are available in numerous variants - for standard applications as well as for demanding operating conditions.

Two-way ball valves are used to easily open and close pipes. They are often used as shut-off valves - for example to interrupt the hydraulic flow during maintenance work or for emergency shut-off in the event of leaks.

The way they work is simple: inside the housing is a perforated ball that is rotated 90° using a handle. In the open position, it enables an almost loss-free flow, while in the closed position it completely closes and seals the line.

Multi-way ball valves such as 3-way ball valves or 4-way ball valves enable the targeted switching or diverting of media flows. The direction of flow is determined by the internal bore of the ball - typically in an L, T or X shape.

Typical applications:

• Switching between two consumers, for example between hydraulic cylinders

• Selecting or switching off individual hydraulic circuits

• Return and discharge via separate lines

• Circuit switching for redundant systems (e.g. main and emergency pump)

Thanks to their compact design and flexible connection options, multi-port ball valves are particularly suitable for systems with complex control requirements.

The STAUFF product range offers high-quality ball valves made of steel and stainless steel for medium to high pressure ranges. The components are designed for a long service life and fulfil the highest requirements in terms of quality and safety.

Special features of STAUFF ball valves:

• Housing made of European quality steel with traceability

• Zinc/nickel surface for maximum corrosion resistance for some series

• Hard chrome-plated balls for low friction and long service life

• Fully drilled balls - no cross-sectional constriction

• Ball seats made of POM (Delrin®) to reduce the actuating torque

• High-quality details such as large thrust washers and support rings

Versions up to 800 bar and +500 °C are available for extreme applications - including special solutions for paints, varnishes or isocyanates.

In addition to ball valves, STAUFF offers other valve types for controlling and protecting hydraulic systems - also manufactured in industrial quality.

The range includes

• Non-return valves: Prevent backflow of the medium - ideal for protecting pumps and circuits

• Throttle valves: Enable manual regulation of the flow rate

• Throttle check valves: combination of both functions for double safety and flexibility

These products complement the ball valves perfectly and extend the range of applications in the field of flow control.

Tested components are essential for particularly safety-relevant areas of application in hydraulics - for example in the chemical, petrochemical or offshore industries. STAUFF two-way ball valves from the BBV series have successfully passed a fire protection test in accordance with British Standard BS 6755 T.2, API 6 FA and ISO 10497. The corresponding test certificate was issued by TÜV.

In addition, selected ball valves have already been approved by renowned classification societies such as DNV GL and ABS (American Bureau of Shipping). These certificates can be provided on request.
