Test Couplings of the STAUFF Test Series

Measuring couplings can be categorised into four different systems in terms of their basic construction and design: STAUFF Test 20, STAUFF Test 15, STAUFF Test 12 and STAUFF Test 10.

Test couplings in the STAUFF Test product range are already designed to be installed in suitable positions in the hydraulic system during the initial design phase or added later in retrofitting or upgrading.

The STAUFF Test range allows machine operators and maintenance personnel to easily and safely connect analogue, digital measuring, and display devices for the temporary testing or continuous monitoring of system pressure and other parameters. If required, venting of the system or fluid sampling, e.g., collecting a representative fluid sample to analyze the fluid's degree of contamination can be completed using STAUFF Test couplings.

Test couplings can be categorised into four different systems in terms of their construction and design: STAUFF Test 20, STAUFF Test 15, STAUFF Test 12 and STAUFF Test 10.

This blog post provides some clarification on the main differences between the four systems.

STAUFF Test 20

  • Diagnostic test couplings with adaptation thread M16 x 2 according to ISO 15171-2
  • Available with integrated ball valve (type SMK-20) or poppet valve (type SKK-20) with additional soft-sealing element
  • Permissible operating pressure of up to 630 bar (depending on the type of coupling)
  • Coupling / decoupling of measuring hoses or adapters with measuring, testing and display devices under system pressure of up to 400 bar possible (depending on the type of coupling)
  • Made of carbon steel (with superior STAUFF zinc/nickel surface coating for maximum protection and durability) as well as stainless steel (V2A - 1.4305 / AISI 303 and V4A -1.4571 / AISI 316 Ti)

STAUFF Test 15

  • Diagnostic test couplings with adaptation thread M16 x 1,5 (lower thread pitch than STAUFF Test 20)
  • Available with integrated ball valve (type SMK-15) or poppet valve (type SKK-15) with additional soft-sealing element
  • Permissible operating pressure of up to 630 bar (depending on the type of coupling)
  • Coupling / decoupling of measuring hoses or adapters with measuring, testing and display devices under system pressure of up to 630 bar possible (depending on the type of coupling)
  • Made of carbon steel (with superior STAUFF zinc/nickel surface coating in black finish for maximum protection and durability) as well as stainless steel (V2A - 1.4305 / AISI 303 and V4A -1.4571 / AISI 316 Ti)

STAUFF Test 12

  • Diagnostic test couplings with adaptation thread S12,65 x 1,5 (special thread / saw tooth thread)
  • Available with integrated poppet valve (type SKK-12) with additional soft-sealing element

STAUFF Test 10

  • Push-to-connect diagnostic test couplings
  • Available with integrated ball valve (type SMK-10)
  • Permissible operating pressure of up to 400 bar (depending on the type of coupling)
  • No coupling / decoupling of measuring hoses or adapters with measuring, testing and display devices possible under system pressure
  • Made of carbon steel (with superior STAUFF zinc/nickel surface coating for maximum protection and durability)
